Recent graduate Dennis Delgado interviewed classmate Camay Villanueva (Fashion Design, '11) about her fashion/style magazine Reflekt. Camay says that most of her ideas for the magazine came from Otis. She was inspired by Ted Polhemus' book Streetstyle: From Sidewalk to Catwalk, which she discovered at Otis' fashion design library. In her senior paper, she explored the correlation between fashion and faith (fashionable muslims, hasidic jews and catholic iconography in fashion). As she explains, "I wanted to showcase different style tribes and fashion subcultures from all over the world, as well as useful articles for readers to discover their personal style and to be comfortable being their wonderfully weird self. Kind of like Psychology Today with a fashion twist."
