Two types of financial aid are available to Graduate Writing students. Academic Fellowships range from $10,000 to $15,000 per year, for each of the two years of resident study. These fellowships are merit-based and are awarded on the basis of the quality of the student’s application.
Students may also qualify for the Teacher Training & Professional Practices Program that prepares writers for careers in teaching or publishing, depending on their career objectives. Like paid internships, in this training Graduate Writing students apprentice either to undergraduate English teachers or as editorial assistants in our professional publishing program. Like the fellowships, these positions are merit-based and offered for both years of study. The yearly stipend for these positions is $3,000 for six training hours per week, over the course of two fifteen-week semesters.
