She specializes in Latina/o and African-based healing and spiritual practices in Los Angeles.  She is co-author of Botánicas: Sites of Healing and Community Support, and Miraculous Migrants to the City of Angels: Perceptions of El Santo Niño de Atocha and San Simón as Sources of Help and Healing.”

Claudia has been teaching part-time at Otis since Fall 2008.
