MA & PhD (Folklore and Mythology) UCLA; BA (Political Science). Author of many articles including “Ironic Bodies and Tattooed Jews", “ The Magical Harry Potter", as well as the book Star Trek Fans and Costume Art. She has appeared as a folklore expert on many TV shows and has produced three DVD's: "Alien Images", "UFO's in Derbyshire" and "The Costume Art of Star Trek Fans". She is currently working on a documentary film called "Visiting Vampires in the Big Easy".

Heather has been teaching full-time at Otis since Fall 1999.
