Decisions


 

All graduate admission decisions are made by the faculty in each department. Candidates are notified in writing once decisions have been made. Please see below for application deadlines and for additional information from each department.

Spring – Graduate Fine Arts and Graduate Writing
The online application for the spring term is available on September 1 the previous year. The deadline for completing spring applications is November 1. Spring applicants are admitted on a space-available basis. Spring classes begin in early January.

Summer – Graduate Graphic Design only
The online application for the summer term is available on October 1 the previous year. The deadline for completing summer applications is January 15. Summer classes begin in mid-June.

Fall – Graduate Fine Arts, Graduate Writing, Graduate Public Practice
The online application for the fall term is available on October 1 the previous year. The deadline for completing fall applications is January 15. Applications completed after January 15 will be considered on a space-available basis. Fall classes begin in late August.

Graduate Fine Arts
Faculty will review complete spring applications after the November 1 deadline. Candidates will be notified of the decisions by early December.

Faculty will review complete fall applications after the January 15 deadline. Candidates will be notified of the decisions by early March. Applications completed after January 15 will be considered on a space-available basis.

Graduate Writing
Faculty will review fall or spring applications on a rolling basis as they become complete. Candidates will be notified promptly as decisions are made.

Graduate Public Practice
Faculty will review complete fall applications after the January 15 deadline. Candidates will be notified of the decisions by early March. Applications completed after January 15 will be considered on a space-available basis. Graduate Public Practice does not accept applications for the spring term.

Graduate Graphic Design
Faculty will review complete summer applications after the January 15 deadline and candidates will be notified of the decisions by early March. Applications completed after January 15 will be considered on a space-available basis. Graduate Graphic Design does not accept applications for the fall or spring terms.
