Preparing a Portfolio

 

To apply for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program, please submit these six items:  
   
1. Application for Admission You may apply online, or request a paper application form from the
Admissions office.
   
2. $60 Application Fee There is a non-refundable $60 (U.S.) application fee for all
those applying for the BFA degree and the Special One-Year Program.
   
3. Portfolio One of the most important elements of the admissions
process is the portfolio. It demonstrates your artistic
experience, education and talent to help us identify creative,
talented students who will work hard at Otis and be
successful. See portfolio guidelines.
   
4. Essay Submit a one-page essay describing a significant person or
experience that has influenced your decision to become
an artist or designer. Include your name and other ID(date
of birth, address) at the top of the essay.
   
5. Transcripts Applicants currently in high school must submit official
transcripts. The minimum GPA is 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. You must
also submit transcripts for any college work completed.
   
6. Test scores Applicants currently in high school must submit either SAT or
ACT scores. (International students see International Students
section)
   
Label all application materials clearly with your name and another ID (date of birth or address).

Applicants are usually notified of the Admissions Committee decision within three
