David Orkand ('04), valedictorian of his class, left Otis to pursue his architecture education at Princeton. As the recipient of a Monbukagakusho Doctoral Research Scholarship, he studied in Tokyo with Yoshiharu Tsukamoto (Atelier Bow-Wow) as a Fellow at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. He worked for Mansilla + Tuñón Arquitectos, Madrid, after a three-month Assistant Instructor position at Princeton. His travels have also taken him to China, India, Iceland, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand. "I always find more similarities than differences between cultures, and the overwhelming generosity of the people I have met has made it all the easier. In general, I find that people who are desirous of more experiences and less things seem to really enjoy the world around them."
