The Community Arts Engagement Minor is for students who wish to work in art/design education and socially engaged art/design practices in areas that don't require a teaching credential, such as Kindergarten-12th grade private schools, museum education departments, community arts centers, correctional facilities, therapeutic arts programs, public art, and design companies that focus on educational materials, and the use of design as an agent for positive social change.
The Community Arts Engagement minor requires 14-18 credits of coursework in place of LAS and studio electives. Pursuing a minor does not require additional coursework or degree requirements (for the 130-credit BFA).

This minor is open only to stduents majoring in Communication Arts (Advertising Design, Graphic Design and Illustration), Digital Media, Fine Arts (Painting, Photography and Sculpture/New Genres) or Product Design.
