    Angie Bray: Shhhh

    Angie Bray: Shhhh is a substantial exhibition of the Los Angeles–based artist’s installations, photographs, drawings, sculpture and video organized by guest curator Meg Linton for the Ben Maltz Gallery at Otis College of Art and Design. The exhibition opens on Saturday, January 17, 2015.

    Bassoonist John Steinmetz Performs and Converses with the Audience
    Playing live bassoon inside the exhibition Angie Bray: Shhhh, Steinmetz will react to Bray’s installations by playing some of his own music as well as new compositions, and will converse with the audience, who are encouraged to sit or roam through the gallery looking and listening.

  • Composer Kubilay Üner offers a “reactive” experience with a live presentation of a new composition made in response to the exhibition Angie Bray: Shhhh. The performance will be interspersed with conversation between Üner and Bray.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY 10, the 2014 BFA Fine Arts Senior Exhibition, is open to the public May 4-11 at the Galef Center for Fine Arts. The show features work by Fine Arts seniors Christian Joseph Alvarez, Courtney Arwin, Alexis Avila, Josua Aaron Beliso, Xochitl Castillo, Kevin Colin, Berklee Tate Comstock, Victor Hugo Delgado-Lopez, Nicole Dodson, Ruby Marisela Escobar, Marquita Flowers, Jillian Frederick, Mark Joseph Gens, Esmeralda Jaqueline Gonzales, G-SUN, Ming Yan Gu, Jenna Tashjian Hanson, Katherine Jean Hooper, Emeilya Rose Iben, Aaron Elvis Jupin, Michelle Denise Lange, Grace Eunchong Lee, Lo Ki, Michael Meads, Alise Mongeon, Daniel Eduardo Palacios, Miller Robinson, Kara K. Singson, Tyler Syphers, and Sebastian Maximillian Tovar.  Artwork in the show ranges from painting to sculpture to video to installation and drawing. May 4-9, 11 am-5 pm; Saturday, May 10, 10 am-6 pm with a reception from 6-9 pm; and Sunday, May 11, 10 am-5 pm.
