Portrait Drawing


Students explore the portrait as theme while developing their drawing skills, personal vision, and individual style. While working in a variety of drawing media, students engage in quick sketch and long and short poses. Course emphasizes the structure and proportion of the face. The portrait, as well as basic of physiognomy, is explored historically through lecture and class discussion. Through class discussion, individualized attention, and critique students develop a portfolio of work.

Prerequisite: Drawing and Composition
