Drawing and Painting Studio: Ages 13-15
In this course teens are introduced to the fundamentals of drawing and painting, while exploring a variety of art mediums and techniques. Focusing on composition, shape, volume, and visual space, students are guided to access their creative voice and develop their own unique personal style. Students develop artistic skills such as drawing from real life objects and photographic images, working in large format, and preparing the surface for paint.
First class materials: $35 lab fee payable to the instructor for supplies.
• All students attending courses on the Goldsmith Campus must check in with Continuing Education staff in the lobby of the Ahmanson Building
• All Young Artist Workshop (YAW) students are required to submit a completed YAW Emergency Information Form prior to admittance into the classroom. (Students will not be permitted to attend without this.)
• For students attending both morning and afternoon classes, a mandatory fee of $50 is required for supervision during the lunch break (meals not included). The fee is paid upon check-in on the first day of each 2-week session.
