Making Art in the Third Dimension: Ages 9-12
In this course, students create artworks inspired by contemporary artists who work with three-dimensional media. Materials range from found objects to plaster, from clay to fabric. Students are also introduced to concepts of three-dimensional art beyond sculpture including performance and installation. Students practice their drawing skills, while sketching in preparation for their artworks. Young artists come away from this course with an understanding of traditional and experimental sculptural materials, as well as knowledge of 20th and 21st century artists.
First class materials: $35 lab fee payable to the instructor for supplies.
