    Otis College of Art and Design will award honorary doctorates to Rick Lowe, visionary social-practice artist, and Otis alumnus Masami Teraoka (’68 MFA), internationally recognized artist and human rights advocate, at the 2016 Commencement ceremony May 15, 2016.

Continuing Education Course



Painting Projects: Ages 9-12


In this class, students learn to paint while exploring a variety of mediums and painting genres from around the world. Basic vocabulary and skill-building techniques are taught, as well as the exploration and experimentation with non-traditional materials. Students look at five examples of painting from five different locations to further their knowledge of painting techniques and art history.

First class materials: $35 lab fee payable to the instructor for supplies.

IMPORTANT: • All students attending courses on the Goldsmith Campus must check in with Continuing Education staff in the lobby of the Ahmanson Building • All Young Artist Workshop (YAW) students are required to submit a completed YAW Emergency Information Form and Policies and Procedures Acknowledgement of Receipt (last page) prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
