    Discover how the creative economy is transforming downtown Los Angeles.  Studios and galleries continue to move to the heart of our city and into areas that were off the beaten path just a year ago. Otis Patrons Circle members will enjoy an Otis-inspired tour of downtown L.A.'s vibrant scene.  

    Tour includes:
    Visit to Kent Twitchell's ('77 MFA) new studio, followed by a short ride to see a few of his downtown murals

    Inside peek of Cynthia Vincent's ('88 Fashion Design) fashion design studio

Ex Libris - Altered Books: Ages 9-12


Use books as a starting point to create great works of art. In this course you’ll deconstruct found paperback and hardcover books to create sculptures, assemblages, collages, paintings, and drawings. Students explore techniques of origami, intricate cutting, and hand sewing to broaden creative experience. Also covers the history of book artists, from illuminated manuscripts to contemporary artists.

First class materials: $35 lab fee payable to the instructor for supplies.

IMPORTANT:
• All students attending courses on the Goldsmith Campus must check in with Continuing Education staff in the lobby of the Ahmanson Building
• All Young Artist Workshop (YAW) students are required to submit a completed YAW Emergency Information Form prior to admittance into the classroom. (Students will not be permitted to attend without this.)
