Allyssa Wolf, Vaudeville

A bridge is on its way
But don’t demand that
The lilies speak, as for myself
I was shaped within a strict science
According to the chamber of clouds I was
Of air and flesh, torch-blue

Allyssa Wolf is the author of Vaudeville (2006), Loquela (2010), and Night Fast (2009). Her work has appeared recently in Fence, With + Stand, Moonlit, and VLAK. She is the recipient of a Gertrude Stein Award for Innovative Writing.
