Highlights from the 2010 Retreat
The Summer 2011 K-12 Teacher Retreat: Media Arts at Otis College of Art and Design will provide teachers with in depth media arts skills and integration strategies for arts, math, science and humanities curricula.
This five-day intensive retreat is designed to reinvigorate educators teaching practices while expanding their art and design skill-set through a series of workshops, presentations and field trips. With a cadre of instructors who are experts in their field and access to state of the art facilities, participants will develop and produce a documentary/narrative short video throughout the week.
The K-12 Teacher Retreat is open to K-12 credentialed teachers of all subjects and teaching artists. Salary point credits are also available to local school district teachers. Tuition, meals and housing are provided at no cost to participants through a competitive application process.
The James Irvine Foundation generously funds this retreat, including tuition, meals and housing for the twelve teachers selected to participate.
