  • Fine Arts presents a lecture by painter Mary Weatherford. She received her BA from Princeton and MFA from Bard. Weatherford has shown at David Kordansky Gallery in L.A., LAxART in L.A., Brennan & Griffin in New York, and Debs & Co in New York.  In addition, her work is included in collections of MoMA, LACMA, Hammer Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego, and OCMA.

    In conjunction with Otis’ Creative Action program, Big City Forum presents a series of four discussions featuring individuals who reinvent social space and redefine how we engage with each other.

  • “Foregrounds” is a show exploring how we listen to sounds. It utilizes field recordings by blending songs and spoken word pieces with the soundscapes in which we listen to them – whether it be played along with Los Angeles traffic, the sound of a meal being prepared, or waves at the beach. Presented by DJ Derek (Corn), DJ Nasera (Alayon), DJ Max (Miles) of the Otis Radio class.

Post Arrival for Future Students

Check-in With Otis

Upon your arrival in Los Angeles, F-1 regulations require that you report to campus. To meet this requirement, follow the instructions below.

New Arrivals from Outside the U.S.

Step 1: Check-in with the Registration Office

Step 2: Submit a photocopy of your signed I-20 and Passport

Step 3: Report your U.S. Address to the Registration Office by completing form AR11. This action must be completed with-in 10 days of your arrival.

New Arrivals from Inside the U.S.

Step 1: Obtain your new Otis I-20 from the Registration Office

Step 2: Sign your name on page 1, line 11 on your new I-20

Step 3: Submit a photocopy of you signed I-20 to the Registration Office

Step 4: Report your U.S. Address to the Registration Office by completing form AR11. This action must be completed with-in 10 days of your arrival.

Attend New Student Orientation – O Week

Airport Ground Transportation

When you arrive to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), you can take a shared ride van. These include but are not limited to, Super Shuttle, Prime Time Shuttle, etc. directly to Otis or any location in the area. Reservations are not required to use a shared ride van. You can find them in designated ground transportation areas just outside baggage claim areas. Each van has a sign indicating its destination. Make sure your van is going to Los Angeles. You can ask where and when to board a shuttle van by using the courtesy phones available in the baggage claim areas. The cost is approximately $15-$35 for transportation from LAX to Los Angeles with an optional tip recommended for the driver. The shared ride van will take you to the destination you specify. You may also take a taxi, which will cost significantly more.
