Faculty Governance is a structure by which faculty engage in discussion and consultation, and participates in the operation of the college for the purpose of providing the highest quality education available. In order to foster a collegial decision-making process, the Academic Assembly is organized into a number of appropriate committees.
The Provost is the chief academic officer of the College, reports to the President and works closely with the senior leadership of Otis to ensure the academic quality of the institution. The Provost Office, in consultation with the appropriate dean, chair, director, and committee of the Academic Assembly, is responsible for all faculty and academic personnel appointments; all curriculum and program approvals; and compliance with all relevant accreditation standards. At the request of the President, the Provost serves as the primary academic liaison to the Board of Trustees and the Board of Governors.
The Academic Technology Committee advises the leaders of the academic computing, labs, library, instructional, and administrative technology areas of the College to help plan, evaluate and guide the technology initiatives, programs and facilities to achieve the educational mission and goals of the College.
This handbook contains information on Otis' policies and procedures.
The Academic Meeting Schedule aggregates many of the committee meetings for the bodies listed above.
