Provost's Office

Kerry and Randy

Welcome

The Provost is the chief academic officer of the College, reports to the President, and works closely with Otis' senior and academic leadership to ensure the quality of academic planning and programs. The Provost's office, in consultation with the appropriate Dean, Chair, Director, or Committee of the Academic Assembly, is responsible for all faculty and academic personnel appointments, curriculum and programming approvals, and compliance with applicable accreditation standards. At the request of the President, the Provost serves as the primary academic liaison to the Board of Trustees and Board of Governors.

The Provost's Office provides support, leadership, and oversight for instructional programming, including undergraduate and graduate degree programs, certificate and non-credit programs of study, and public programming sponsored by the College. The Deans, Chairs, Directors, and Coordinators of the academic departments and programs report to the Provost. In addition, the Provost's office oversees academic support services, including the Library and Instructional Technology, Gallery and Public Programs, Academic Computing, Academic Mentoring, and numerous shops and labs that comprise Technical Support Services.

The Provost's Office also plans with academic and committee leaders an Academic Meeting Schedule each term, the Annual Faculty Convocation event, and New Faculty Orientation in collaboration with Human Resources. See also: Faculty Events and Activities.
