LIB amica   Access to several image databases, including AMICA (images contributed by art museums), Cornell Political Americana Collection, Pratt Institute Fashion Plates, and many more. (At Otis--won't work if pop-up blocker is activated.)

  A library containing thousands of digital movies which range from classic full-length films, to daily alternative news broadcasts, to cartoons and concerts. Many of these videos are available for free download.

  Best Copyright-Free Photo Libraries  - Links to 12 US Government collections with images in the public domain.
    Flickr Creative Commons - Searches Flickr CC-labeled images which may be used under certain conditions such as attribution. Check rights before use. You can also search directly through Flickr Advanced Search.
    Open Clip Art Library - Clip art images available for downloading and remixing; all images are in the public domain.
    Open Photo - Moderated photo community with the goal of uniting image consumers and producers through friendly Creative Commons licensing. (Royalty-free images, many of which are free.)
    Stock.xchng - FREE royalty-free images. (Requires sign-up.)
    Freeimages - 6000 images. (Require credit.)
     
Architecture and Urban Design   ArchNet - Collection of images, books, maps, drawings, and more of architecture and urban design in the Muslim world.
    Digital Imaging Project - Images of architecture, historical sites, and more taken by Professor Mary Sullivan at Bluffton U. (Some large, some not.)
    Emporis - Database of worldwide commerical real estate information and construction data.
    Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles - Search for murals in Los Angeles County by title and neighborhood as well as by muralist.
     
Art and Art History   Artchive - Survey site with a  focus on modern and contempory art (not all are large images; beware of pop-up windows)
    Saskia - High quality images of art history (hundreds are already available in OtisDID, but there may be some we still need.)
    Smithsonian Collections Search Center - Search across the collections of the Smithsonian's museums and archives
    Victoria and Albert Museum - Focuses on decorative arts, most images also available for publication.
    Web Gallery of Art - Survey site with a focus on Renaissance European painting and sculpture
    World Images - Survey site of art historical images
     
Printing and Book Arts   Database of Bookbindings - Produced by the British Library.
    Papyrus Collection - The University of Michigan has made its large collection of papyrus fragments available digitally.
     
Historical Images and Documents   American Memory Project - Powered by the Library of Congress, the site offers access to images and documents of US history from different institutions.
    Calisphere - The California Digital Library offers this collection of images of California history. Some items also available via Luna Commons. (Images vary in size.)
    Civil Rights Digital Library - Contains a plethora of primary sources, including images, sound and video
    Historical Anatomies on the Web - The National Libraries of Medicine has posted excellent images from many antique books on anatomy.
    Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Collection - The online catalog contains many images of items from their collection, some of which are public domain.
    Digital Vaults - Search for materials from the US National Archives using the semantic web.
    Screen Search Fashion - Thematic guide to 1920s-1930s UK fashion and dress via film archive (no still images)
    Visible Earth - NASA project. Some of these images may also be available in NIX (NASA Image Exchange), which is available through the OtisDID.
