Otis Involvement:
Peer Mentor, Registration Clerk, Student Ambassador, Teaching Assistant in multiple departments.
Why you became interested in the Peer Mentor program?
I became a Peer Mentor because I would like to challenge myself and get involved with new students who are new to the environment, and help them to get to know the school and the city.
Most memorable moment as a first year student:
The most memorable moment was probably spending hours on a wood, form and space project, and then while I was carrying it back to my apartment, the whole thing fell into pieces and dirt also got into it. So, I had to recreate the whole thing again. Fortunately, I had roommates who were juniors at that time. They cooked my favorite food and cheered me up.
What did you wish to know as a first year student:
I wish I knew that everyone in school had the willingness to help one another out, and not to be afraid to ask if you have any problems with homework, or anything.
What is it like to be part of the diverse community at Otis?
It's awesome! You get to experience different culture, and food. No one can really make fun of you for being different, because everyone it’s different in their own way. Also you can learn a little bit of different languages for free!
