MISSION The First Year Experience Program helps you successfully transition into the Otis community by enhancing your engagement, connecting curricular and co-curricular programs, introducing you to available resources, and fostering lifelong learning.
PROGRAM GOALS
Coordinate an Academic Affairs/Student Affairs partnership to maintain a comprehensive FYE program that addresses the common needs of new first-time students.
Support the design and development of curricular and co-curricular learning experiences that engage students and enhance faculty-student interaction.
Provide continuous program assessment that identifies and responds to student needs and academic support services
STUDENT LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of FYE, you should be able to -
Identify campus resources and individuals who support your success at Otis and what they do.
Complete the advising, registration, payment, and financial aid processes as well as locate resources.
Use fundamental academic study skills that are critical to your success, and the library for support with information literacy/research.
Engage in activities, excercises and presentations that address cross intercultural communication, promote community, mutual respect and appropriate social conduct.
Explain how you maintain a holistic lifestyle grounded in wellness, social responsibility, and academic success.
