Otis Involvement:
Peer Mentor and student representative for my section in Foundation year, which basically entailed bringing concerns, ideas, and questions from the students in my section to the administrators of the Foundation year.
Why you became interested in the Peer Mentor program?
I love interacting with people and reaching out so when i saw the poster for the Peer Mentor program, I figured it would be a great opportunity to become involved as a positive force on the Otis campus and meet new people.
Most memorable moment as a first year student:
My Cultural Studies field trip to Olvera Street for Day of the Dead. It was really interesting and inspiring to get to look at some beautiful folk art in the form of altars.
What did you wish to know as a first year student:
To be more informed about housing by actual students who had lived there. A lot of information on what really goes on at Otis can only be heard from the more senior students.
What is it like to be part of the diverse community at Otis?
Coming from a small town, Otis is by far the most diverse setting that I have lived in, but I love it and welcome the (relatively) new change.
