Derek Thompson ('94), storyboard artist at Pixar since 2005, shared his tips in a two-day workshop on creature development, What Scares and Creeps You Out? Students came to the workshop with examples of scary things, developed these ideas into specific creatures, saw examples of the thousands of drawings Derek has produced for Pixar animations, and created storyboards. Thompson reviewed their portfolios, providing valuable insights about the profession.
