Fashion student designs in Designs for the Cure

Sketches by fashion design students will be on display as Susan G. Komen Los Angeles County hosts its first annual “Designs for the Cure” Gala at the Bel Air Bay Club tonight. The “pink tie” evening brings together the worlds of fashion, celebrities and cancer survivors to raise funds for breast cancer screening, education, treatment and research. Celebrity fashion designer and Otis Fashion Design Mentor David Meister, who joined Susan G. Komen as a member of the Pink Tie Guys – a group of men dedicated to promoting the Susan G. Komen mission, will be honored for his achievements in promoting confidence and self-esteem in the modern woman, as well as his contributions to the cause of breast cancer awareness.
