    New York-based artist Polly Apfelbaum’s work has situated itself as a hybrid of painting, sculpture, and installation over a career spanning 30 plus years. Exploring the intricacies of color, Apfelbaum weaves her way, both literally and conceptually, through ideas of Minimalism, Pop aesthetics, and Color Field painting to blur the lines between two and three dimensional art making.

    John Keene is the author of the novels Annotations and Counternarratives, as well as several other works, including the poetry collection Seismosis, with artist Christopher Stackhouse, and a translation of Brazilian author Hilda Hilst's novel Letters from a Seducer. The recipient of a Whiting Award, Keene has been a member of the Dark Room Writers Collective and a Cave Canem fellow. He has served as the managing editor of Callaloo and taught at Northwestern. He currently teaches at Rutgers University-Newark and lives in New York.

Library Reserve Info

Traditional Library Reserves

Otis Faculty place materials on Reserve in the Library for their students. Reserves are really an extension of the classroom. They include books, copies of chapters from books, and articles from journals and newspapers. In addition, Reserve materials sometimes include syllabi, lecture notes, and videos/DVDs.

Individual faculty members initiate the process of placing items on Reserve by bringing materials to the Circulation Desk and filling out a Reserve Form, available online or from the Circulation Desk in the Library. The Reserve item is then prepared for circulation and a record for it is created in the Library's catalog. Finally, the item is placed behind the Circulation Desk, where students can check it out for a period of time stipulated by the professor, ranging from Library Use Only (recommended) to overnight. Electronic Reserves

In addition to Traditional Library Reserves, some materials may be available through the O-Space Learning Management System on a 24/7 basis. O-Space uses the same credentials as accessing your Otis webmail.

Faculty interested in using making available electronic versions of course materials should take into consideration the copyright issues. Use the Checklist for Fair Use before uploading materials into O-Space. Faculty are responsible for compliance with the Otis Copyright Policy. The Library reserves the right to remove any item it deems an infringement of copyright.
