    Open Studios: L.A. Summer Residency

    The artists and designers of the first-ever L.A. Summer Residency invite you to their open studio event! The public can join family and friends as they tour the studios and view all of the incredible work produced during the past three weeks. A closing reception will follow from 4-5:30pm.

    The L.A. Summer Residency at Otis College of Art and Design offers an opportunity for artists and designers to work side-by-side in an immersive three-week residency within the vibrant art and design community of Los Angeles.

  • Amelia Gray is the author of the short story collections AM/PM, Museum of the Weird, and Gutshot, as well as the novels Threats and, most recently, Isadora, published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. Her fiction and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Tin House, and VICE. She is winner of the New York Public Library Young Lions Award, of FC2's Ronald Sukenick Innovative Fiction Prize, and a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award.

The following details the process to purchase announcements:

  • Announcements and Diploma Frames for students graduating in 2017 can be purchased on line directly during March of 2017. Please stay tuned for a direct link.

Tickets

The 2017 Otis College of Art and Design Commencement Ceremony will have ASSIGNED SEATING and tickets for admission will be distributed beginning April 17th. Please check your Otis email accounts during the month of March 2017 for updates on the process to obtain tickets. For the class of 2017, each eligible graduate will receive 5 tickets to the annual commencement ceremony. There is no exception to this limit per space available at the commencement site.

Seating will be in a large auditorium that has an upper and lower level. There are no exceptions to the assigned seating process, and families will NOT be able to hold seats for guests who arrive late to the ceremony. The seats in the auditorium will also be professionally ushered. A limited number of designated seating for physically challenged individuals in wheelchairs ONLY will be made available. To pre arrange seating for this purpose, please contact Mike Luna, Director of Student Activities at 310-846-2595.
