A Rare Bookstore Find Sheds Light on the Legacy of Charles White Among His Students at Otis College

Sometimes the discoveries we make through social media can be unexpectedly auspicious. When Director of Alumnx Relations Hazel Mandujano (’03 BFA Fine Arts, ’10 MFA Graphic Design) was scanning Instagram on February 3, an Instagram story post by Other Books, a bookshop and collaborative space in Boyle Heights, caught her eye.

Otis College Remembers Alumnx Liz Young (’84 BFA Fine Arts) 

The Otis Community endured a great loss with the passing of Liz Young (’84 BFA Fine Arts), who died on December 22, 2020 after a brief struggle with cancer.

Support Otis Alumnx Small Businesses This Holiday Season

The pandemic has thrown so many things out of the norm that even the crazy shopping frenzy around Black Friday seems to have started weeks ago. Thankfully, what hasn’t changed is that Small Business Saturday is still being celebrated, this year on Saturday, November 28. There’s no time like now to support and celebrate all small businesses (take that, Bezos!), and what better way to start than with these Otis alum-owned studios, shops, and art and design practices.
