Foundation Curriculum Research Initiative Series: Annet Couwenberg—Unravel the Code

Unravel the Code is a multidisciplinary program that draws upon traditional crafts to explore emerging technologies of making. Students from MICA (USA), Willem de Kooning Academie (NL), and St. Lucas School of Arts Antwerp (BE), following related coursework, meet to collaborate on a high-intensity workshop that opens new understandings of contemporary modalities through creative recontextualization of new and old technologies, sharing methodologies and experiences.

Foundation Curriculum Research Initiatives Series: Annet Couwenberg—Sewing Circles

Annet Couwenberg's Sewing Circles lecture will be an overview of years of cultural research, digital experimentation, and finished artifacts to celebrate the building on tradition and heritage to acquire new insights. Through her creations, the artist will ask how traditional textile construction can be modified or transformed by adapting it to digital fabrication processes.

In celebration of the talented faculty at Otis College, we are launching a new regular series, “Quick Questions with Otis College Faculty,” beginning with Roni Feldman, an Adjunct Professor in the Foundation program who was the recipient of a 2021 Teaching Excellence Award. Originally from Los Angeles, Feldman teaches Principles of Design and Connections through Color & Design.
