The Group Celebrates 50 Years of Helping Otis College Students

Marilyn Levin was working as a personal shopper at the luxury department store I. Magnin in Beverly Hills some 30-plus years ago when one of her clients told her about The Group, a volunteer organization that fundraises in support of Otis College of Art and Design, and invited her to lunch with them at the iconic hotel now known as Sunset Tower. “I liked art, I was an art history major, and I was a docent at LACMA. So I said, ‘Sure,’” Levin recounts. She’s been a member ever since.

Otis College Announces Charles White Art and Design Scholarship

Otis College of Art and Design is pleased to announce a full, four-year scholarship program named for influential American artist and educator, Charles White (1918-1979). The Charles White Art and Design Scholarship celebrates the legacy of the artist and serves to honor his enduring influence as an Otis faculty member from 1965 until his passing in 1979.

Growing Nutritious Food with Florence Nishida

Please join master gardener Florence Nishida as she teaches ceramic students how to grow nutritious food in their Victory Garden Planters as part of our positive efforts to address food insecurity during COVID-19.  As a result of generous donations, and the coordinated efforts of the Teaching and Learning Center, Institutional Advancement, and Technical Services, every ceramic student received Stay at Home Clay Kits, making this online project possible.

Otis College Alumna Dawn Baillie (BFA ’86) Gifts Class of 2020 with Heartfelt, Personal Gesture

Dawn Baillie as an Otis College undergraduate student.It was midway through the 1985-86 school year when Dawn Baillie graduated from Otis College with her BFA degree. She had finished all her required credits and couldn’t afford to stay an extra semester to graduate with the rest of her classmates in the Spring (however, she would return for the commencement ceremony).
