We thank the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation for making this project possible.
Up^Shift L.A. is a project of Otis College of Art and Design and was inspired by Otis' Annual Report on the Creative Economy of the Los Angeles Region.
You should care about L.A.'s Creative Economy because it's about quality jobs, families, communities, your future, and the future of our City.
L.A.'s Creative Economy is about the billions of dollars generated each year by businesses and individuals involved in producing cultural, artistic and design goods and services.
We're talking about the people responsible for creating almost everything around you:
Each one of these designers and artists’ jobs creates more jobs.

HomeKeep L.A. buzzing and alive with energy. By doing so, jobs are saved and new jobs are generated. Your presence and support is also a way to tell our City's decision makers that L.A.'s creative culture and economy is important to you. Plan your next outing with some of these resources:
Be an advocate for the arts.
Attend candidate forums, whether they're for local neighborhood councils, school boards or city government elections.
Write, email and call your elected officials. Let them know how important the arts and the Creative Economy are to you.
