The Communication Arts department at Otis includes both Graphic Design and Illustration concentrations. Innovation, entrepreneurship, and professional preparedness are at the heart of what we do. With a focus on critical thinking, civic-mindedness, and inventive form-making, ComArts students are collaborative, articulate, and conceptually and technologically adept.

As designers, we have recognized a social responsibility over our environment and our effects on visual culture. Over time our work can have great effects and can attribute to endless possibilities. At times we are consumed by work. Countless hours are spent working in the studio, meals are skipped, ideas are shared spontaneously. Work consumes all, but its fine, we do not work alone. As designers, we pertain to a like-minded community that shares the same passion. We seek to understand the visual, and we aspire to edify the larger world that surrounds us. NO WKND is an ode to these moments.
In solidarity with the safety of those more vulnerable to the spread of COVID-19, our show “NOWKND” was developed into a website. Support artists and freelancers best you can during this time, check on your neighbors and community and STAY SAFE.
