My project is about how algorithms affect our nature versus nurture and how the recursion of information being sited to us is creating a bubble of information that leaves us with little access to information outside of our predetermined search results. In order to give Millennials/students/Alumni a way to have more control over what information is being distributed to them, I am creating an app to improve the types of material and resources available giving the ‘user’ a better hands-on experience to find us

Hello, my name is Kendra Filler and I am a Graphic Designer graduating from Otis College of Art and Design in May 2020. I have developed my professional background through my prior work in the fashion industry and as a freelance graphic designer for the past three years. I am experienced in all aspects of the adobe suite, (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and XD). I am an enthusiastic designer, highly motivated, and curious. I am a quick learner and a great collaborator. I am good at reading what is written between the lines and communicating the story with a visual experience.

ARTIST MANIFESTO

  1. Visually illusive
  2. The visual concept should have an air of limitlessness “out of this reality” realities. Play on the understanding of reality, but use imagination and visual intention.
  3. In choosing a color choose a pallet with color that illuminates the fantasy of reality.
  4. Objects that fit into the realm of fantasy, and distorting life’s bleak tones and inserting objects that prove to have a feeling of visual interest, with an emotional investment (Nostalgia).
  5. Conceptually break traditional boundaries of the “norm”.
  6. A feeling of being slightly twisted and questionably or obviously inappropriate or taboo.
  7. The tone of the concept should be conveyed in either an extremely obvious way or in a metaphorical dual conceptual understanding
  8. Can often include hidden messages
  9. Unrealistic realism
  10. Be brave with color
  11. When in doubt use a monochromatic color palette
  12. Visually strong or bold imagery
  13. Don’t blend in
  14. “Live in a world of what the hells”
  15. “Art is anything you can get away with”
  16. Lyrical interpretations are important. When stuck listen to music and use lyrics to create visual concepts.
  17. Feel the fear and do it anyway.
