Extension Online Workshop: Shibori Techniques at Home

Indigo Shibori is the ancient Japanese art of resist dyeing using various binding, twisting, wrapping, tying, and stitching techniques to achieve unpredictable and gorgeous results on fabric. In this interactive, 3-hour workshop, students will learn Shibori-inspired techniques with fiber reactive dyes or indigo, a process that students can use for their own textiles from a home studio. Demonstrated techniques will include several different shape resist techniques, such as kumo and itajime.
