Description: Taught by Veronica DeJesus (BFA, San Francisco Art Institute, MFA, UC Berkeley), this drawing and meditation workshop is influenced by her personal story: “Growing up my dad taught us how to heal with art. My dad wrote songs and poetry everyday all the time. My dad was teaching us the ways of Morovis Puerto Rico home of the decemos and the cuatros which are filled with healing ancestry connecting me and my family to taino.”
Through storytelling, drawing exercises, guided meditation, a group drawing activity, and final reflection, students experience healing while practicing shamanic meditation techniques through drawing.
