Through use of an avatar, the avatar not only investigates the performative qualities necessary for the portrayal of identities, but also asserts itself in the responsibilities of the institution with gestures of subjectivisation, and demands a response.
For Stef Heidhues, questions about assumptions, expectations and truths about society are a well of ideas and dialogue. In particular, she is interested in urban society: its appearance, its flaws and disturbances, and its margins and voids.
Vika Kirchenbauer is an artist, writer and music producer currently based in Berlin. In her work she explores opacity in relation to representation of the ʻotheredʼ through ostensibly contradictory methods like exaggerated explicitness, oversharing and perversions of participatory culture.
