Ingrid Calame is an artist who lives and works in Los Angeles.  Calame had a mid-career retrospective at the Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh, Scotland in 2011.  She has had solo exhibitions at museums such as the Kunstverein Hannover, Hannover, Germany, the Albright Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia, and the Savannah College of Art and Design Museum.  Her work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, NY, the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, NY, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA, and Kunstmuseum St. Gallen, St. Gallen, Switzerland.  She earned her BFA from State University in New York at Purchase, NY in 1987 and an MFA in Art and Film at California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, CA in 1996.  She is represented by Galerie Anke Schmidt, Cologne, Germany.  She has written for East of Borneo, Frieze, Flash Art, and art issues.
