Graduate Fine Arts Lecture: Véronique Aubouy

Performance : Proust in one hour

by Véronique Aubouy

Duration : 60 minutes chrono

In this performance I try to summarize in 60 minutes In search of past time with my own words, as a story of another time which reveals itself contemporary. I deliver my own intimate and personal perception of this book which radiates in my life. Each performance is another opportunity to explore different zones of the book, proceeding at random, inspired by an aleatory and fickle memory.

Véronique Aubouy’s works are strongly influenced by literature and music. She is the author of documentary films as well as fictions, of performances, vidéo installations, internet créations and photographs.

Proust Lu - Since October 1993, Aubouy films people from all origins, in all possible locations and in time, reading each two pages of In search of past time, from the first pages of the book to its end. The film Proust Lu, which is today 116 hours long, includes more than 1100 readers, should be completed by 2050. Shown in galleries and museums.
