NFTs have recently become a growing phenomenon among well-known brands and artist communities. This workshop empowers artists and designers with the tools and knowledge needed to create and sell their own NFTs (Non Fungible Tokens). All aspects of the NFT creation process will be addressed: definition of NFTs; the purpose behind them; how to develop artwork into an NFT; and the process for listing on an NFT marketplace. Topics include environmental concerns; the metaverse; community building; how NFTs are part of Web 3.0; and the learned terminology surrounding NFTs (e.g., crypto assets, PFPs, royalties, the public ledger, blockchain, wallets, and gas fees). Students will learn generative art methods to create a PFP (profile picture) NFT and generative art methods to develop an NFT collection. Through Discord and the Solsea.io marketplace, students will begin to build their very own NFT community.
