Time: 11:11 AM Pacific Time (US and Canada)

Lili Bernard is an artist, activist, actor, independent curator, and educator who hails from Cuba. Now an artist living and practicing in Los Angeles, she graduated from Otis with her MFA after studying within the Public Practice department. Primarily a painter, Lili has exhibited at MOAD in San Fransisco, Berkeley Art Center, stARTup Air Fair in Los Angeles, and many more. Her work examines issues of sexism, racism, and trauma.

Her solo show at MOAD in 2017, Antebellum Appropriations, took classical European paintings and turned the narrative on its head. This series became an exploratory paragon of suffering and resilience. Lili’s activism is something that also is a driving factor within her practice. Lili is the founder and organizer of the movement, BAILA (Black Artists in Los Angeles). Additionally, she serves as co-chair for #ERAnow, an equal rights amendment activist movement focused on the furthering of equal rights for all women.
