MFA Fine Arts Lecture Series: Peter Shire

Peter Shire is an artist based out of Los Angeles and one of the founders of Memphis, an international design movement that came out of Italy during the 1980’s. His work, which dips into architecture, furniture, fashion, and craft, pushes the limits of both ideas and execution and is rooted firmly in the belief that everyday objects must be appealing to the eye as well as useful. His work has been described as "bright", "playful", and "colorful".
