Movies that Matter: Trumbo Screening and Q&A

Based on real events, Trumbo is the story of Dalton Trumbo (portrayed by Oscar-nominated Bryan Cranston) who was Hollywood's highest paid screenwriter until 1947 when he was blacklisted and jailed by the House Un-American Activities for his political beliefs.

We are honored to have the film’s award-winning editor Alan Baumgarten, ACE, as our special guest for the Q & A following the screening moderated by Movies that Matter series producers Perri Chasin and Judy Arthur.

An intensely timely film. ‘ Trumbo’ is terrific.”  Newsweek

“Bryan Cranston is a powerhouse!”  Rolling Stone

“A screen triumph. One of the year’s must-see pictures.”  Deadline Hollywood

The Movies that Matter Special Screening Series is produced by LAS Faculty Perri Chasin and mentor Faculty Judy Arthur in association with the Office of Student Activities.
