Hosted by LAS Faculty member Marsha Hopkins, the Civil Rights Then and Now Lecture Series welcomes Stephen Wong to discuss the history of the immigration of Asians to the United States, their activism through the Civil Rights movement and their solidarity with other people of color at that time.

Steven Y. Wong is the curator at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, the longest running institution in Los Angeles devoted to exhibiting art. Previously, he was the Interim Executive Director and the senior staff curator at the Chinese American Museum in Los Angeles. Steven holds a Masters degree in Asian American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Masters in Fine Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). He has lectured at UCSB and was an adjunct professor at Ventura College and Pasadena City College in Asian American Studies, History, and Art Studio Departments.
