As stated in the March 16 message to the Otis community, the campus was closed in an effort to protect the health, safety, and wellness of our community members. Students living under Residence Life and Housing, either through the Residence Hall or Park West apartments, were asked to move out of their assigned rooms by Friday, March 20 at 12:00 p.m. noon. Otis has allowed for brief extensions to students who needed more time to relocate. Students who could move out by the deadline and those with short extensions will receive prorated refunds for housing. Fifty-one students will remain for a time in campus housing, which allows space for possible isolation needs, as well as having all remaining students in apartments with kitchens (Elaine’s also is continuing to provide grab and go food items).
Students who have already completed a move-out appointment and removed all personal belongings are not required to do any further steps.
All other students must review the email sent to all residential students, as it contains information on how to properly check out of assigned rooms, what to do if you have already left, and how to petition for an exception.
We understand that this is a frustrating and confusing time and Residence Life and Housing wants to support every student.
