Acrylic Painting Techniques
Acrylic paints have several advantages; they’re malleable in texture, versatile, and fast-drying to mention a few. This introductory course focuses on the techniques of acrylic painting. Students explore the use of brushstroke, grounds, mediums, palette knife, and varnishes for various effects (glazing, layering, dry brush, impasto). Students also experiment with techniques such as splatter, mixed media, and resist. In addition, this course covers color mixing and theory, optical blending, composition, value, and texture.
