Bio/Affiliation:

I find teaching and working with designers and artists to be a most joyful experience.  Many of my courses address the interplay of storytelling as narratives move between text and performance, and I have taught CAIL, Capstone, and travel study courses.

In addition to my teaching in LAS, I serve as the Otis Faculty Ombudsperson; and on the Professional Development Committee of the International Ombudsman Association.

On two occasions I served as our interim Dean of Students.  As Director of Special Projects I designed and led our FIPSE grant for Faculty Development, The InSight Project: Culture Walking for the Multi-Cultural Classroom. I also led Otis's six-week, on-site, professional creative renewal programs for Mattel, Inc.

I have a wide range of interests including modern and postmodern literature, Shakespeare,  comparative religions and interfaith concerns, early Christian culture and scripture, social and restorative justice, problem solving, architecture, and the ever-evolving phenomenon of Los Angeles.

Personally, my great loves are literature, film, and theater... all powerful storytelling technologies.  I also love singing, watching professional bicycling, and smart design.

I have been teaching full-time at Otis since Fall 1997; part-time since Fall 1991.
