Bio/Affiliation:

Eileen Pottinger is a designer and educator who strives to blend art, science, and design to create educational interactive experiences. In her role as an exhibition designer at LACMA, she worked towards forging connections between entertainment and education, drawing visitors in with clean design that emphasized the content. Eileen's scientific background offers her a unique perspective on design opportunities, with a focus on how science can work with design to help heal environmental wounds. In addition to teaching at Otis, Eileen is developing a Makerspace program that focuses on student-directed hands on design activities. Eileen's pedagogical goal is to create classes and programs that guide students through a design process that helps them access their agency, creativity, and growth mindset.
