Bio/Affiliation:

I am an artist based in Los Angeles, CA, and began my studies at the University of California, San Diego. In my sophomore year, I transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles, where I earned a BA in Art, and an MFA in Painting.

My most recent solo shows were at Rory Devine Fine Art in 2022, and a 20-year survey of my paintings and sculptures at Rio Hondo College Art Gallery, entitled “Seedpods, Martians, and Flowers, a survey” in 2018. I have exhibited my drawings, paintings, and sculptures nationally and internationally for the past 28 years. I’m known for creating wall mounted sculptures made of steel, paper, wire, and acrylic paint.  My sculptures use artificial organic imagery to fabricate abstract extravagant biologically themed constructions referencing nature and outer space.

My exhibitions have been reviewed and/or featured in dozens of publications including numerous print issues of Art in America, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and the LA Weekly. My work is in the permanent collection of the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, The Peter Norton Collection, and many other private and public collections nationally. Selected solo and group shows include the Los Angeles County Museum of Contemporary Art, The Kemper Museum (Kansas City, MO), The Santa Monica Museum of Art, Edward Cella Art + Architecture (Los Angeles), and Roberts Projects (Culver City).
