Bio/Affiliation: 

Regis is a poet and philosopher from Cleveland, Ohio. Regis received his bachelor’s degree in English literature and philosophy from Howard University in Washington DC and then relocated to L.A. where he obtained his M.F.A. in Creative Writing, with a concentration in Poetry from Otis College of Art and Design. He is currently a Tenure Track professor at Santa Monica College and Otis College, where he also serves as an Academic Advisor and Black Creatives Institute mentor. Regis received the student-nominated Outstanding Contribution Award for his impact on student work and campus wellness at Otis College. Regis has been published in “King + Lyre magazine, “Palm” by Red Right Hand Press, and has been invited to read at places throughout the greater Los Angeles area such as Agility Gallery, Avenue 50 studios, Poets and Allies for Resistance at The sidewalk cafe, The Requiem for Sandra bland series at Art Share LA, Wirecutter Press book releases at Cielo Galleries and Skylight Books. Regis authors hybrid works that tread the line between prose and poetry, focusing on otherness, metaphysics, and everything beyond.
