Alum LAWRENCE GIPE ’86 has a solo exhibition at Lora Schlesinger Gallery in Santa Monica titled "Where We Were, and How We Got There" July 18 - August 29, 2015.

Grads TODD B. RICHMOND, REGINE RODE and alums ANDREW CURREY ’15 and KRISTIN DUCHARME '03 were selected to participate in the 2015 Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery (LAMAG) Juried Exhibition Jul 26 – Sept. 20, 2015.

Alum JEFFREY VALLANCE ‘81 has a one person show "The Medium is the Message” at CB1 Gallery from July 25 to September 5, 2015.

Alum JESSE BENSON ‘03 curates a gallery affiliated with Santa Monica College and is presenting works by Los Angeles based artist Tom Krumpak July 9 - September 10, 2015

Grad REGINE RODE will take part in the ART Graduate Theme Exhibition: Fragment at the UCLA Wight Galllery, Sept 24 - Oct 8 2015.

GFA Assistant Chair ANNETTA KAPON has her videos at the Flussi Media Art Festival “Realityvism” in Italy (August 26 to 30, 2015) and at Laceno d’Oro Cinema Festival in Italy in September 2015.

Alum EDITH BEAUCAGE ‘10 participated in LAWA (Los Angeles World Airports) LAX Art Program "On the Cusp” curated by John David Obrien March to September 2015 (Terminal 7 and 8)

GFA Assistant Chair ANNETTA KAPON and alums MICHELLE ANDRADE ‘07, STEVEN BANKHEAD '01, ED GOMEZ ‘03, JOHN WESTON '07, ERIC SARBACH '13, ROB FAUCETTE ’05 and BRANDY WOLFE ‘12 will take part in Peak Experiences, ShangriLa 2015, at ShangriLa in Joshua Tree, produced by alum DREW DUNLAP '06 and curated by Short House founded by alum MICHELLE CHONG '06 from September 4 to 7, 2015.

Alum SWEET SAMSON '14 had a solo installation Countless Grey in ANNETTA KAPON’S Proxy Gallery from July 1 to August 31, 2015. The exhibition was reviewed in Evening Moscow on July 1, 2015.

GFA Assistant Chair ANNETTA KAPON’S Proxy Gallery will host a one-person exhibition of paintings by LARI PITTMAN from September 1 to 30, 2015.

Alum WENDY GIVEN ’02 will participate in the group exhibition Stilleven at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, from SEPTEMBER 12 – DECEMBER 20, 2015

Alums MARISSA JOHNEN ’14 and DAVID DEL FRANCIA '14 completed a one-month residency at Fundacion Sebastian in Mexico City, followed by a two-person exhibition "NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST," presented in conjunction with Fundación Sebastian's international residency program. July 30 to August 30, 2015.

Alum CARLA DANES '03 showed her work in FM ART with HEART at Industry Gallery, Pacific Design Center, Los Angeles from August 1 to September 11, 2015.

Grad DELIA PEREZ SALINAS will have a solo exhibition at Selecto Planta Baja in Los Angeles from September 25 to October 12, 2015.

Alum ANDREW CURREY ’15 was awarded the 2015-16 Armory Center for the Arts Teaching Fellowship starting in Fall 2015.


Alum KATY COWAN ’14 is participating in the group exhibition Listening and Making Sound:The Great Poor Farm Experiment VII at Poor Farm in Manawa, WI July 31st - August 2nd, 2015.

GFA faculty KORI NEWKIRK is participating in Hard Edged: Geometrical Abstaction and Beyond at the California African American Museum from August 13 2015 to April 24, 2016.

Alum MARY YOUNAKOF ‘06 staged a performance entitled RGB (Part of her Chromatic Convergence project) at San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art on August 7, 2015. 

Grad ELIF ERKAN and alum JESSE BENSON took part in Villa Aurora Revisited organized by Park View Gallery in BALICE HERTLING at the FILM CENTER in New York from July 15 to August 29, 2015. The exhibition was reviewed by Nicolas Linnert in in August 2015.

Alum CHRISTINA HENDERSHAW ’12 took part in the group exhibition XX at Subliminal Projects in Echo Park from August 27 – September 26, 2015

Alum SERGIO BROMBERG’S 6114 Venice Gallery will be showing Nicholas Kersulis from September 12 - October 24, 2015.

Alum ELENA ROSA ‘12 took part in Perform Chinatown at Fifth Floor Gallery on August 16, 2015.


Alum KATY COWAN ‘13 is part of a four-person exhibition, Try again. Fail again. Fail better: at Cherry and Martin Gallery from August 22nd to September 19th, 2015

GFA faculty BENJAMIN WEISSMAN curated and participated in Black and White Mike (tribute to artist Mike Kelley) at Center for the Arts in Eaglerock from August 29, to September 24, 2015.

Alum WAKANA KIMURA ’11 will take part in R.S.V.P. LOS ANGELES: The Project Series at Pomona College Museum of Art from September 1 - December 19, 2015.

Alum MATTHEW CARTER ’10 has a one-person exhibition GROTESQUE at Luis de Jesus Gallery from September 12 - October 17, 2015

Alum RONARD SANTOS ‘01 will participate in the Palm Springs Modernism Show with his company AHRRS.INC from October 9-11, 2015.
